Oh Wall Art how do I love thee!!! Let me count the ways. Yes, it’s no secret that I’m not big on making cards. I just can’t stand the thought of my blood, sweat and tears and most importantly my ART being tossed into “the round file” (as my father likes to call it). When I saw the Wall Art Challenge at LESSology my heart did a happy dance! Not only that but the hubs and I are preparing to move and what better way to celebrate a new home than with some fresh art…right?
Let me tell you I have been a busy bee this past week getting my Krylon on; all while cringing at the cost of spray paint and hiding my receipts from the hubs I have several pieces to share with you but I’m going to break them up into several posts. First up is a piece I’ve created for the bathroom….
I have a bit of a fish fetish and what better place to showcase my love for fishy goodness than the bathroom. These tropical fish were cut from an old shower curtain that I couldn’t bear to just toss out with the trash. New house new shower curtain so I cut out the fish from the old one and some snippets to add texture and interest to the canvas. The background was spray painted with a blend of blues from Krylon and dashes and speckles of Krylon Metallic silver.
The fish and snippets were Mod Podged to the canvas and a silver Sharpie was used to highlight random snippets of shower curtain. This canvas will match “swimmingly” with my new bathroom. I love the way the shower curtain fishes glimmer in the light just like the real thing!
Thanks for checking out my creation…I have a lot more to share so do come back again soon!
