Things to make with Dylusions Spray Inks

by Amy Bowerman

Have you tried Dylusions Spray inks yet?  If not you MUST!    The Dylusions line hails from the lovely and talented Dyan Reaveley...a signature designer for my favorite crafty company Ranger Ink!  With Dylusions spray inks you can easily add vibrant color to porous surfaces.  There are also lots of fun stamps and stencils available in the Dylusions line that when coupled with the spray inks are purely magical!

Once again I’ve scoured the inter-webs for creative projects using Dylusions spray inks, stamps and stencils.  After seeing these amazing projects you will definitely want to get your hands on the whole set (if you haven’t already).

When I first got my Dylusions spray inks I used them to create colorful backgrounds on the pages of my Octopode Factory Storybook

Once I had filled my storybook to the brim with Dylusions I wondered what else I could make “Dylusional” with these magical sprays?  In the end every porous surface in my studio became a candidate, starting with this bunch of dried Hydrangeas…

The dried flowers came out so well with Dylusions I decided to try them out on silk flowers

Next, I thought to myself “Why not MAKE some flowers with Dylusions?”  So I did…

I had a bunch of plain white tissue paper lying around that was far too boring for the gift I wanted to wrap.  I found I could easily solve this problem by customizing said tissue with Dylusions!

Most recently I used Dylusions to dye some fabric to complete a “Chompy” for my son’s Skylanders Birthday party.

My friend Marjie Kemper is solely responsible for getting me to “drink the kool-aid” on Art Journaling.  I was inspired by her lovely journal pages and was amazed by her vibrant Dylusions colored backgrounds.  Marjie was kind enough to show me the path to the wonderful world of Dylusions and I’ve been spraying my heart out ever since! Here is one of Marjie’s inspiring pages filled with colorful goodness!  Stop by Marjie’s blog She who Stamps and Scraps for more inspiring creations and tutorials.  She might just offer you a glass of “Kool-aid” too :)

I sprayed a fabric basket with the Dylusions Ink Spray and the ink won’t set. I set it in the hot sun for a day hoping the ink would set but it still rubs off on your hand when you touch the basket!!!! Any ideas on how to get the ink to set??????

Seal the basket with a mod podge, liquitex varnish, or spray acrylic sealer. Any of those will stop the spread of the ink
