I just love this  Neo Chain from Dazzle-it!  Neo Chain comes in an array of vivid colors that glitter due to exposed brass within the chain!  I chose to go with basic black and white for my Starburst earrings but you can be as bold as you want by mixing and matching all the fabulous colors of Neo Chain available!

How to Make Starburst Earrings with Neo Chain

I love jewelry and I love an easy jewelry project even more!  With this easy DIY earring project you can look fabulous without the fuss.  If you aren’t into stars you can use any shape you like and dress it up with glittery, Neo Chain dangles!

Supplies:

  • Dazzle-it Neo Chain and Colored Findings (available wholesale from John Bead)
  • Sheet Metal
  • Sizzix Dies (I used Tim Holtz Crescent Moon and Stars)
  • Small Drill (I used Tim Holtz Idea-ology Drill Punch)
  • Sanding Grip
  • Heavy duty scissors

STEP 1: Die Cut sheet metal with Tim Holtz Crescent Moon and Stars Sizzix die (or die of choice).

*TIP*  Add texture by running sheet metal through an embossing folder before cutting.  Keep in mind that smaller patterns will work best (I should have used the diamond plate embossing folder as opposed to the riveted metal…*Note to self)

STEP 2:  Use a sanding grip to smooth any sharp edges (the die cutting will fold down most edges so a light sanding will do).  Use a Drill press to punch holes in die cut metal stars for findings.

*This was the first time I’ve used this little drill press and I must say it is fantastic!

STEP 3:  Attach coordinating colors of Neo Chain Findings through holes.  Cut various lengths of Neo Chain (White & Black) to form a Starburst pattern and attach with a large jump ring.

That’s all there is to it folks!  See I told you this would be easy.  These Starburst Earrings are simple to make but deliver big impact thanks to the glittery, colorful goodness of Neo Chain!

You’ve just tipped me over the edge to buy the Tim Holtz metal die cut machine. It had been on my very long wish list for a while. This illustrates a great use.

Wow, these are darling little earrings. Love the tutorial, thanks for that. Super easy but super fun and love that you used the moon and stars die for them.
