How to make Paper Leather Flowers
I’ve been making paper flowers since I started this blog many moons ago. I’ve made flowers out of every possible material from Dryer Sheets to a Die Cut Slip and Slide (true story). I must say that Paper Leather is the BEST material for flower making I have found to date. You won’t believe how easy it is to create with. This stuff can take a creative beating and come out looking beautiful! Let’s get blooming….
- Sizzix Paper Leather Sheets (white)
- Sizzix Ink Sheets (gold)

STEP 1: Start by embossing and inking Paper Leather sheets with Sizzix Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. Layer an ink sheet matte side up over the paper leather and run it through your Sizzix machine.
*Tip: For a deeper inked impression run it through the machine twice.
STEP 2: Die cut inked paper leather with Eileen Hull Leaves and Fringe Flower Sizzix Dies.
*Tip: Save the embossed ink sheet and paper leather scraps for another project!
STEP 3: Apply Distress Stains to a craft sheet. Mist with water to blend and dip die cut leaves into the ink. Dry with a heat tool to reveal gold ink sheet embossing. Edge with Distress Ink.
STEP 4: Color embossed Fringe Flower Die Cuts with Distress Markers. Use a water brush to blend.
STEP 5: Dry water coloring with a heat tool. Apply embossing ink to roses (I used emboss gloss) , cover with embossing powder (I used Ranger Antiquities Frosted Crystal) and emboss. Add texture with a background stamp. *I used a crackle stamp with Pumice Stone Distress Ink.
STEP 6: Shape Flowers with Sizzix Flower Shaping Tools. You can learn more about how I shape the Fringe Flower HERE.
STEP 7: Wire buttons and beads together to create flower stem. I used some Vintage Trinkets from Finnabair with beads and buttons from my collection.
Check out this paper flower tutorial for more info on how I wire my flowers.
STEP 8: Plant your Paper Leather flower in a fun container like this bunny planter I scored from the thrift store and enjoy!
