Octopode Factory Button Bracelet

by Amy Bowerman

Happy Friday to all!  It’s time for another challenge at TOFF.  This weeks challenge features one of my FAVORITE things…Stars!  It’s no secret that I am a lover of stars I have many of them permanently inked on my body and often get asked “Whats with all the stars?”  My reply is simple, “They remind me of things that inspire me to do great things!”  One of my favorite images from The Octopode Factory is the “Star Border” when Lily sent it to me a few months ago I told her how I wished I had it years ago when I got my wrist tattooed.  I have used this image on many projects but none of which I can wear so this time I used the image to make a button bracelet.  You can check out another project I made using this fun image from the Octopode Factory by clicking here.

Aside from stars I also LOVE buttons!  I use them mostly to make Paper Flower Arrangements. I’ve seen such fabulous button art on Pinterest (click the link to follow me).   I decided to give button bracelet making a go.  I learned how to make this button bracelet with this helpful tutorial by Beyond Bracelets.   Everything you ever need to know you can learn on YouTube!   I used a mix of vintage buttons and Novelty buttons to make my bracelet.  After completing the bracelet I colored the Octopode Factory images with Copic markers and then mounted and sealed them to heavy black chip board.  Beacon Decoupage Medium was added over the Mod Podge to add shine.  The images were cut with Tonic Scissors and pierced so small jump rings could be added.  I attached the jump rings to the stretchy cord threaded through random buttons and Wallah!  Now I have wearable Octopode Factory art!!  I’m on a bit of a wearable art kick lately.  Check out the Octopode Factory Hair Clips I made last week.

Starred for life!!

I suppose this is a prime example of having your cake and eating it…er…wearing it too?  Now I have the best of both worlds a wrist full of my favorite thing…STARS!!  The photos were taken with Instagram…my latest App obsession (My user name is Pluckingdaisy if you would like to follow me).  Don’t you just love the vintage feel?  I’m just getting started with Instagram but can’t wait to use it more!!

Stop by and show us your stars at TOFF!

Have a fun and fabulous Friday!!
