Jungle Baby Shower Centerpiece

by Amy Bowerman

Oh baby, it’s a jungle out there!  My best girlfriend is having twins, and things are about to get wild!  In honor of her soon to be arriving multiple bundles of joy I created a Jungle themed baby shower centerpiece for her using Sizzix dies fromEileen Hull’s new Cherished collection.

Jungle Baby Shower Centerpiece | Pluckingdaisies.com #Sizzix  This new Sizzix collection is capital A Adorable and can be used in many ways for Baby themed projects and beyond!  (You can view the entire Cherished Collection HERE)  I combined  Eileen’s 3-D Cubes die (aka Artist Trading Blocks) with her too cute for words Jungle animal Framelits sets to create  this Palm tree centerpiece bursting with Jungle animal fun!

Lions, Monkeys, Giraffes and Elephants Oh My!  The jungle gang’s all here to welcome the babies to be!

Jerry Giraffe here has a soft “spot” for cuteness don’t you think?

How to make a Jungle Baby Shower Centerpiece

Now that you’ve me the Jungle Crew let’s find out how to create these cuties for your next Jungle themed Bash!

Jungle Baby Shower Centerpiece | Pluckingdaisies.com #Sizzix Sizzix Products Used:

These Jungle Animals are super fun to create!  You can experiment with different papers, embellishments and trims to design your own adorable Jungle Animals.  Each Thinlit set comes complete with assorted dies for faces, bodies, and other layering elements that can cut through paper, felt, and thin fabric!

Jungle Baby Shower Centerpiece | Pluckingdaisies.com #Sizzix

When working with Sizzix Thinlits or Framelits I HIGHLY recommend using the Magnetic Platform.  The super strong magnetized platform holds Thinlits in place for easy peasy die cutting.

Jungle Baby Shower Centerpiece | Pluckingdaisies.com #Sizzix You can mix and match materials to create your own unique jungle friends.  My jungle Animals were created using Kraft Core Coredinations Paper (Distress Collection), Ranger Ink Distress and Archival Inks, Black Enamel Accents (for eyes and mouths), Gelly roll pens (for detailing), Fabric Duck Brand Tape and bits of lace and felt.

Jungle Baby Shower Centerpiece | Pluckingdaisies.com #Sizzix To create the tree I  used Eileen’s 3-D Cubes die to cut mat board and Kraft paper.  The Kraft paper was embossed with Eileen’s Basket Weave folder and cut into tiles to place over all sides of the matboard pieces.  Each block was attached to the next with large brads.

The Palm Tree was cut from Green Rolux using Tim Holtz Jumbo tattered florals die.

The “Welcome to the Jungle” embellishment was created using matboard scraps and Eileen Hull’s Animal Crackers Stamp set from Craffiti Direct.

Hope you enjoyed our paper crafting, safari adventure today!  I’m looking forward to welcoming my friends new little ones to “the Jungle” at her baby shower this weekend with this Jungle Themed Centerpiece!

This is so cute! I recently purchased the Lion & Monkey and the Elephant & Giraffe die cut sets and I am trying to figure out if Eileen Hull’s Craffiti Direct Animal Crackers stamp set actually coordinates with the dies cuts? In the picture, the stamps look like they might be smaller than the actual dies. If you don’t mind and have a chance, can you tell me? Thank you so much!

How wonderful to be having twins, two gorgeous babies at one time………wonderful!

Your Jungle centrepiece is such a fantastic idea, beautifully executed, the animals are adorable and the flower at the top is incredible. The embossed card reminds me a little of giraffe hide, so it is perfect too. I think your friend will fall in love with this, quite rightly so. Hugs, Anne xx
