Introducing the Eileen Hull Inspiration Team!

by Amy Bowerman

Hi Creative friends!  So happy to have you here with me to share in the excitement of a “New Beginning”.  Today is the big reveal of the Eileen Hull Inspiration Team and we are celebrating by kicking off the Art with Heart Challenge!

Eileen Hull Inspiration Team | Eileenhull.com #lovesizzix Our Art with Heart Challenge kick-off theme is aptly titled “New Beginnings”.  The Inspiration team will be sharing their favorite projects to introduce themselves and their creative style before we officially get started next month.

If you are new here at Plucking Daisies welcome!  I just know we will become fast friends.  To my old friends I hope you know how I treasure you all.  Your continued support and thoughtful comments inspire me to create every day and for that I can’t thank you enough :)

I’m experiencing many “New Beginnings” this year, many of which have been with my creative sista from anotha mista Eileen Hull!  I’ve started teaching xlasses, attending trade shows to demo the latest and greatest products, started an artistic movement with #TheATB and my latest venture coordinating the fabulously talented Eileen Hull Inspiration Team!  I’m on a creative adventure my friends and I’m loving every minute of it!

I have no idea where the road I’m on will take me but I am certainly enjoying the ride.  Today I’d like to share with you where my journey began and a few of my favorite stops along the way…

Plucking Daisies: Mixed-Media tutorials and Inspiration! | Pluckingdaisies.com

My creative journey began with a daisy sketch.  That sketch then became a logo for a blog that has allowed me to express myself creatively in ways I never could have imagined.  When I first started Plucking Daisies I created lots of paper flowers.   This Neapolitan Paper Flower arrangement is from my early years.   However, this arrangement is special to me because it marks the day I met Eileen “before” actually meeting her.

I was searching for Paper Flower dies and Eileen had just released the Fresh Vintage Collection .  I happened upon a blog hop she was hosting featuring gorgeous designer creations.  I remember thinking “She makes flowers, I make flowers…we should hang out!”  Little did I know that a little over a year later we would.

The flowers above were a “new beginning” once upon a time.  My creativity and style has continued to bloom and grow over the years.  Now that you’ve seen the paper flowers of yesterday, let’s have a look at the paper flowers of today…

I first met Eileen (In real Life) at a blogging conference (You can read more about our first meeting and the SNAP! conference HERE).  She had just released the Picket Fence Collection and sent me a few dies to work with after we met at SNAP!  I created this Watering Can Paper Flower Arrangement and it is one of my absolute favorites!

Artist Trading Blocks Preview | Pluckingdaisies.com #ATB #Sizzix The Original Artist Trading Blocks

This next project is near and dear to my heart.  This was the project that changed everything.  These are the original Artist Trading Blocks.  Eileen sent me cuts of her most recent collection Cherished last summer to make samples for CHA 2013 and this is what I came up with.  I was lucky enough to be invited to attend the show (see my CHA 2013 recap HERE) and brought the blocks along to be displayed as samples during demos in the Sizzix booth.  I had no idea they would spark a full-blown art movement 6 months later.    You can see the original Artist Trading Blocks and find out more about the ATB movement HERE.

Colorful Word Art Tutorial with Mod Podge | Pluckingdaisies.com Create Sign Tutorial

This colorful “Create” sign sits in my studio and to this day it continues to inspire me to do as it says…create!  Throughout my creative journey my motto has always been “Create to inspire, inspire to create!”

With my latest “new beginning” as a part of the Eileen Hull Inspiration team I hope to continue to create more projects that inspire.  We have such a talented team of artists all of whom inspire me and I just know they will inspire you too!   We would love to have you play along with us in our monthly challenge.    Here’s some more info on the Art with Heart Challenge

Art With Heart Challenge | Eileenhull.com The Art with Heart Challenge is a monthly celebration of creativity!  Each month the Inspiration Team will be showcasing their Art with Heart created with Eileen Hull’s innovative Sizzix dies. They will be following a broad theme left entirely open to creative interpretation.  We invite you to play along with us and share YOUR art with heart!

We want this to be a place for everyone to create, inspire and share.  We would love to see what you can do with Eileen Hull’s fabulous products but this is not a requirement.  Use what ever products your artful “heart” desires.  Art is for everyone so come along and share your Art with Heart!

I’m so thrilled for you, Amy! Someone as kind and generous as you deserves an amazing adventure! I appreciate you sharing the start of this journey as I only found your blog a few months ago. A couple of times I asked you some questions regarding getting my blog going and you were so helpful and even offered further advice! Surprisingly, (at least to my naive self) I’ve discovered that many people present one way on their blog/website and are entirely different in a non public arena such as an email. You were just the same sweet, caring person as on your site! I, too, am in the process of taking baby steps on a new journey too. Although I taught art to youth for many years I am now starting spiritual growth through creativity workshops for women. Once I get a few more things figured out and finally get my blog live I’ll definitely put a link to your blog. I’m also very happy that you and Eileen connected! Isn’t that kind of synchronicity wonderful?! I’m enamored with the ATB’s and already mentioned to you that I told my local mixed media store – http://www.marcopaper.com – about them and shared the ordering info for Eileen’s dies. I’m going to incorporate ATB’s into my workshops and I know people will love them! One reason I’m so happy for you even though I don’t really know you in person is because as someone who is very intuitive I know you are absolutely genuine. You have a very bright spirit and I wish you all the best as you continue this journey!
