Hello Kitties! Petsmart recently sent me some new products to review from the Martha Stewart Pets collection. Yes…it’s true Martha now has a line for pets! Does it get any better than this? I think not After surveying my cat feeding station I decided it was in dire need of a makeover. After all we want our Kitty corner to be “A Good thing” when Martha Stewart comes for dinner.
Behold the Hello Kitty Cat Feeder!
The pink feeding mat is from the Martha Stewart Pets collection available at Petsmart. It’s made of silicone and the lipped edge makes it easy to clean up after messy cats. Plus the pink made it easy for me to deck out my cat feeder with the Queen of cute herself…Hello Kitty! Yeah this project may get featured on Hello Kitty Hell (in all honesty that just might make my day…not sure yet) but at least I know I’m not alone in the Hello Kitty Fan club. Are you a member too? Awesome! I’ll show you how to make a Hello Kitty Cat Feeder for yourself…er…your cat in just a sec.
First let’s check out the sad situation my cat feeding station was in.
See I told you I had messy cats. Cat crumbs everywhere! Not to mention they’ve been wiping their dirty paws all over Hello Kitty’s face!
Have no fear Martha Stewart is here to solve all your messy pet woes! In order to complete an honest and thorough review of these products I consulted a panel of experts. Allow me to introduce you to the team…
*Yes the chubby one REALLY eats sweaters. She’s working on an afghan now.
As you can see Benjamin is displeased by the lack of color and creativity in his dining area. (He’s in touch with his feminine side and doesn’t mind Hello Kitty…or pink)
Marley was thrilled with the new and improved cat dining area. Notice how she daintily wipes her paws on the Martha Stewart Feeding mat? Ooh fancy!
Cappy is also a fan of the new set up. She HATES crumbs and will not tolerate them in the bowl or around it (true story). Cappy gives the feeding mat two paws up. However, she does not approve of my cat character choice.
How to Make a Hello Kitty Cat Feeder:
*I don’t usually work with power tools but my Dad made this feeder for me pretty easily with scrap wood (go get em’ tiger!). I painted the cat feeder with Krylon indoor/outdoor in Watermelon.
Obviously, when one has a Hello Kitty addiction it’s easy to acquire a menagerie of Hello Kitty merchandise over time. The dollar section at Target is my weakness. This is where I go for my Hello Kitty Fix (when DH isn’t looking). Why does a grown woman need Hello Kitty Stickers and Coloring books? This is why! Besides Coloring Never Gets Old! Especially when you color your images with Copic Markers…so much more grown up
Ah, Duck Tape! Always such a multi-functional material and NOW you are available in pretty colors. patterns , and licensed characters!
Speaking of Multi-functional…my old stand by Mod Podge was used to adhere and seal the coloring book images and Hello kitty stickers.
What’s a Hello Kitty Cat Feeder without some Hello Kitty Trim? Here I used Hello Kitty Ribbon and rhinestones to make this Cat Feeder really sparkle!
In just five easy steps you will have a Hello Kitty Cat feeder for your feline friends…plus you get to color and play with stickers. Who doesn’t want that?
Oh by the way if anyone “wants” this lovely Martha Stewart Pets Double Cat Feeder I will be raffling it off to one of you! Unfortunately, my feline associates command a bigger bowl and get down right “catty” if that demand isn’t met.
It’s a lovely set and I’d like to pass it on to a fellow feline fancier
