Kids Card Printable and Photo Flower Tutorial for Mother's Day, Valentine's Day and more! | Pluckingdaisies.com

    Updated Mother’s Day Photo Card

This is a newer version of the Mother’s day cards I made with my son’s preschool class from last year.  Since he switched schools and the cards were such a success last year I redesigned them using some brand spanking new stamp sets from Hero Arts and Stampendous (“Fanciful Swirls”, “Petal Plus” and “Doodle Letters”).  These cards would be great to make as a Valentine’s Day project as well.  Or just to say “I love you!”  any day of the Year.

“My Love for you grows and GROWS!!

I would have liked to add more color but ran out of time.  I was pretty busy cutting leaves and hearts etc. for 17 kids.  The kids had a great time putting these together.  Time was limited in the classroom so we didn’t have time to break out the crayons there either.  If you are making these at home you can always take time out to color before adding the cup cake liners.

All of the pieces were made into stickers using a Xyron 2.5 in Create a Sticker so the kids to place in the correct spots.  They especially liked running their photos through my Xyron machine aka “sticker machine” as they liked to call it.  I felt like the coolest Mom on the block  when I overheard some playground banter pertaining to me, “Jack’s Mom is cool….she can make sticker’s out of ANYTHING!”

Supply list and Assembly instructions

Supplies Needed:

  • Fiskars 1 in circle squeeze punch
  • Fiskars Extra large scallop squeeze punch
  • Adhesive (I recommend Xyron permanent adhesive tape runner You may use glue sticks as well I just don’t know how well the glue will hold the weight of the embellishments.  DO NOT use Elmer’s white glue!)
  • Colored cup cake liners (2 per project)

Optional supplies:

  • Xyron 2.5 in “Create a Sticker” machine
  • Hero Arts “Fanciful Swirl Alphabet” Stamp set
  • Stampendous “Petal Plus” Stamp set
  • Archival Ink: Jet Black inkpad
  • Colored Cardstock for background
  • Brads (to attach project to colored cardstock)
  • Green fun foam for stamped leaves (“Petal Plus” Stamp set required)

Instructions:

Step 1:  Turn 1 colored cup cake liner inside out and adhere to center of flower.

Step 2:  Adhere 2nd cup cake liner to center of 1st cup cake liner.

Step 3 Adhere scallop punch to center of cup- cake liner.

Step 4:  Adhere photograph punched with circle punch over scallop punch (scalloped edges should just be showing to resemble a flower center).

Step 5:  Color and embellish with stickers.

These are an easy craft project for kids to make for Mom or anyone.  This project has been a huge success every time.

Enjoy!
