Hello my friends! I have returned from CHA and have so much to share about my experience at the show. I have to give a big THANK YOU!!! to my friend and Sizzix designer Eileen Hull for bringing me along. Eileen has a new Sizzix collection called Cherished that debuted at the CHA Create-n-Connect conference last week. Cherished was a big hit at CHA and I’m so excited to share it with you all. Come check it out!
The Cherished display in the Sizzix booth was just as adorable as the collection itself! What a fun booth to be in. I would have lived there if they let me
Here’s a peek of the array of dies and embossing folders available in the soon to be released Cherished collection by Eileen Hull. Sizzlits, Thinlits, Embossing Folders, Scoreboards, Movers & Shapers and Bigz Dies OH MY! The patterns and creative possibilities are endless! This may be a Baby themed collection but like all Sizzix dies you can use the Cherished collection for all kinds of creative ventures!
When Eileen asked me to create some samples using her new Cherished collection from Sizzix and help demo in the Sizzix booth at CHA Create-n-connect I jumped at the chance! In fact I jumped right on the next flight so Sin City. I never met a Sizzix die I didn’t like and I’ve been a long time fan of Eileen’s Sizzix collections. Viva Las Vegas baby!
When you walk into a trade show and are greeted by colorful tissue paper and ribbon flowers you just know you are in for the creative ride of your life!
After the first demo in the Sizzix Booth on Tuesday we were off to Eileen’s class Sizzix in 3-D! Eileen showed eager students how to make a fun mini album (pictured left). I’ll be sharing some tips and tricks on Mini-album making using Eileen’s new Mini Book Sizzix die as we get closer to the release.
Here’s a shot of the students lining up nearly 40 minutes before class started! I told Eileen she was a rock star when it comes to creating 3-D art, and this picture proves my case…don’t you think?
CHA Show Sizzix Samples “Cherished” collection By Eileen Hull
I had so much fun working with Eileen’s Cherished collection from Sizzix! Here are full shots of my samples for the CHA show. I’ll have tutorials for you when the collection is released so stand by and start making a list of your favorite MUST HAVE dies and embossing folders from this fabulous collection.
Here we have the rocking chair die. I took a literal approach with this one but there are many ways to alter and use this chair die to suit any style! Eileen created one sample that she used to hold her buisness cards…clever!
Next, we have the baby food jar. You can use this die for 3-d favor containers or use the individual pieces like the spoon and jar for cards, layouts, or altered projects. I used mine to make “Awesome Sauce”, because we all need a little extra awesome every now and again.
The cradle die was a HUGE hit at CHA! It seemed like everyone wanted to Rock-a-bye-baby and bring a sample home to decorate themselves. I turned my cradle into a “Flower Bed” using the Trinity Flower Die from Eileen’s Picket Fence Sizzix Collection. Don’t you just love how you can take a die from one collection and pair it with one from a totally different collection and make creative magic?
Oooh Ahhh! The booty die is too cute for words! My creation is a throwback to the old booty bronzing days. I made some cuts for my friend Anita The Artful Maven while at CHA. She has some super creative ideas for projects using the booty die. Keep an eye on her blog to see the creative surprises she has in store for you!
Now for my personal favorite…the blocks dies. I can’t share too much about how I created these just yet but I can assure you Eileen’s block dies are THE next big thing…but more on that later
Here’s me and Eileen on our last day of Demoing in the Sizzix booth. Please pardon my squinty face. It was a bright and early demo and I never quite finished my coffee that morning after getting yelled at by one of the staff members at the hotel java joint. I NEVER! Don’t worry though the day I checked out I returned for one last English Toffee Latte and there was no sign of the offending employee.
My friend Anita The Artful Maven has a great post on her CHA experience HERE. She even included a shot of Yours Truly in action during a demo at the Sizzix Booth so stop by The Artful Maven to check it out!
I’ll have more CHA show experiences to share with you later….designers I met, Art I created and products I’m pining for
Big Thanks to Eileen Hull for a wonderful 1st time at CHA experience…when do we go back? LOL!
Have a creative day!
