Bee Happy Card

by Amy Bowerman

When I saw these challenges were about nature, wings, and sparkle I instantly thought of a bumble bee buzzing around some beautiful blooms (paper flowers are kind of my thing…I <3 them!!).  Without a suitable bee stamp in my stash I created this digi stamp (he will available as soon as I get my rear in gear and start putting stuff in my Etsy shop).  The flowers were die cuts I had left over from a paper flower arrangement made previously.  I stamped them with Recollections “Flower” clings, mounted on foam, and added some bling to the centers.  The stems and leaves were stamped on Tim Holtz Retro Grunge paper.  I love using this paper for stems and leaves because it has so many green tones in it already it saves me from having to color, plus I like the dimension the fussy cut image adds.  The sentiment on the clouds was stamped with “Small Typewriter Alphabet” from Stampendous.  I stamped the clouds in Colorbox chalk ink and used a Versamark pen to swirl Perfect Pearls on them.  The bee is embellished with glitter and Perfect Pearls also.  I added the wire antennae for the final touch.  I mounted the clouds and the bee on foam to give the card a light and airy feel.  I was vacillating between adding grass or not but in the end decided to go with clean and simple.  I have a habit of overdoing things at times so there you have it…Thanks for stopping by!  Have a BEE-you-ti-ful day!
