Another inspiring photo from Cath over at the Moxie Fab World. This weeks Tuesday trigger IS indeed “Classically Modern.”
Oh how I wish I could decorate my bedroom like this! Alas, that white bed spread wouldn’t stand a chance with my 5-year-old and 4 “fur kids” so instead I shall pay it homage with a card. My parents 38th Anniversary is tomorrow and this trigger was the perfect jumping off point for a card for them. Not only is it their anniversary but it is also the one year anniversary of when I made my first card (without crayons of course). Here is my take on the trigger.
Like the trigger photo I wanted to keep things clean and simple yet elegant. I love the crisp white and cool blues together and wanted to carry that theme in my card. I noticed in the headboard portion of the trigger photo there were some soft grays as well so I added that in for a little contrast. I repeatedly stamped the rose image on white cardstock with Weathered Wood and Faded Jeans Ranger Distress ink. I used watermark resist ink also from Ranger to stamp “All things grow with Love” which is from Ink-a-dink-a-doo’s “Spring Mini Assortment”. Again, I used Faded jeans distress ink to color the image. The card itself and the white strip in the middle are shimmer cardstock from recollections. I really loved the wall hanging in the photo and couldn’t wait to include it in my design. I used a McGill “Sparkle” punch and some silver shimmer cardstock to recreate the silver spokes and topped it off with a pearl brad I had in my stash. Thanks for swinging by :0)
