Holy Moly! I can’t believe it’s the end of May already! You know what that means, I’m just in time for the May tag. I’m not talking about washing machines, I’m talking about Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2013 May tag technique This was a fun one. Filled with inky goodness and my new favorite product from Tim’s Idea-ology line…remnant rubs.
You can find all the details on how to use Tim’s latest and greatest technique on his blog here. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed using the remnant rubs. These are no ordinary rub ons. They are much sturdier than the average rub on and can be used on a variety of surfaces. Don’t you worry my friends I’ll be showcasing other ways to use these fabulous rubs in the very near future.
I added a few fun elements to my tag using other products from Tim’s idea-ology and stampers anonymous collections. I stamped the typewriter (Stampers Anonymous Mini Blueprints 4) in Archival ink on packaging plastic, covered the back with Frosted Film and attached with a Hanger Clip (both from Idea-ology ).
Next, I stamped “Dreamer” with Archival ink on Sticky-back canvas and edged with Broken China Distress ink.
The remnant rubs make it easy to create custom charms when paired with Tim’s idea-ology enameled tags. I even used some of the rubs on film strip ribbon.
The background of my tag was stamped with Tim Holtz Classic favorites #4 (Stampers Anonymous) in Archival ink. I really like how the negative space is grunged up by the archival ink but allows the bright distress stain colors to show through and gives my “Art Soul!”
There’s still a few more days to get your ink on with Tim’s May tag technique so check it out! I’m chomping at the bit to find out what sir Tim has in store for us come June 1st.
Have an inky day!
